THE TIP-OFF: ALLI WEBB AND ANDY ALLO’S HAIR ROUTINES

THE TIP-OFF: ALLI WEBB AND ANDY ALLO’S HAIR ROUTINES

We go through their rituals with a fine-toothed comb.

Have you ever screen-grabbed a random girl’s selfie just because you love her hair? We’ve all done it. Since an amazing ’do is a must in our girl crush criteria, we’re excited to share with you two hair superstars’ secrets. From Alli Webb, who built a mind- and hair-blowing empire, to triple-threat Andy Allo, whose beautiful head of locks puts on a show of its own, these two know a thing or two about mastering their manes with impeccable results. JESSICA VELEZ

WHO: Alli Webb, founder of Drybar

ON HER FIRST HAIR MEMORY: “When I was a little girl I had curly, frizzy hair, and I hated it. I remember my mom blow-drying my hair…and she wasn’t all that good at it. She would do it and then I would get a mirror and look at the back, which I still do today, and I would always see a ridge. I would be like, ‘Mom, you missed a big section!’ She would be like, ‘You can’t even see it.’ [But] you can see it! But I was always fanatical about my hair—even as a little girl. I knew that if my mom blew out my hair for me, I didn’t have to do my hair for a couple of days—my hair just looked pretty and shiny.”

HER ROUTINE: “When I haven’t washed my hair in a couple of days, I’ll use the Happy Hour Blowout Shampoo and Conditioner because it’s meant to cleanse hair and get [leftover] product and oil and all that good stuff out. And then I’ll usually finish it up with Mudslide Nourishing Hair Mask because it hasn’t been touched in days. From there, I’ll use Hot Toddy Heat & UV Protectant before I comb out my hair because I feel like it’s so important to evenly distribute product. Right now, my current obsession is Texas Tea Volumizing Spray. Then, I get out my Buttercup Blow Dryer, Hold Me Hair Clips, and different-sized Pint Brushes (depending on the look I’m creating.) I section my hair, always starting in the front and working my way to the back.”

“When it’s dry, I use the Three-Day Bender Digital Curling Iron. I like to use the 1.25” barrel because I like to have large, loose waves vs. a small curl. I curl it by sectioning off the crown of my head, curling everything underneath, then bringing down the top to curl—everything going back and away from my face. Finally, I finish with Money Maker Flexible Hold Hairspray and The Chaser Shine Cream to give it a little texture.”

WHO: Andy Allo, singer-songwriter, actress, and DevaCurl ambassador

ON HER HAIR: “My curls are an integral part of who I am—my hair is a big ball of awesomeness and fun; it has a mind of its own. It’s a big part of my personality, and it plays a role in who I am as a performer. I love rocking out with my ’fro during a good guitar solo! It moves around a lot—my assistant calls it ‘’fro motion!’”

HER ROUTINE: “DevaCurl’s No-Poo Decadence and One Condition Decadence are must-haves in the shower—the formulas are very light, but super moisturizing, and help to really soften my curls. SuperCream Coconut Curl Styler is another big one—for me, smell is a big factor, and it smells amazing! Plus, it’s thick and creamy, and I don’t have to use as much of it as I do other products…a little goes a long way.”
